With our spring adult tap classes nearing the finish line, we thought we’d introduce more options for those wanting to tap dance all year round. We have introduced an exciting La La Land Choreography Class, and will be running beginner adult tap classes during our Annual Vancouver International Tap Dance Festival for the first time ever! La La Land Choreography Class (3 one-hour classes)
Tuesdays 6:00pm-7:00pm, June 13th – 27th
$50 for all 3 classes
La La Land, a movie musical starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, features a jazz-loving musician and aspiring actress who fall in love in Los Angeles. More importantly, however, the movie includes a variety of tap dance numbers and tributes to classic routines!
Having two well-known Hollywood stars tap dancing has certainly caught the attention of the people of Vancouver. These light-hearted and easy-to-learn steps have been bringing people into the VanTap studio, ready to try tap dance out for themselves.
This three-part class will explore some of the iconic dance routines in the movie, and will finish with some inspired choreography alongside the song “A Lovely Night”.

Tap Dance Musicality (7 one-hour classes)
Tuesdays 7:00pm-8:00pm (Beginner) and 8:00pm-9:00pm (Beginner-Advanced/Intermediate)
$119 for all 7 classes
Come explore the musical side of what your feet are doing with our Tap Dance Musicality tap classes! We’ll play with subdivisions, tone, poly-rhythms, swing vs straight and most of all… groove!
Take your tap dance to the next level; discover your personal voice and musical style. Expect to play around with new combos to lots of different music and dance styles. Let’s make some music! Musicians will accompany some of the classes as well.
